Lost Indian Passport With Adhesive Visa Sticker – Replacement
-
I was granted a multiple entry visa and I came to Canada as a visitor visa in October 2019 and since then I have been living in Canada. A few weeks ago, I lost my Indian passport that had my adhesive visa sticker. I applied for a new passport and got one but my new passport does not have any visa sticker in it. How can I get the sticker replaced? Do I need to apply for a new visa? Please help me.

In your situation, there could be two possible ways.
As you are already in Canada for more than six months, you must have applied for visitor record application. If yes, you do not need to apply for any application at the moment. If you are planning to travel, then you need to apply a new visa on new passport while re-entering Canada. You can not replace the same counterfoil on your old passport. You need to apply new visa from outside Canada. However, you can still extend your stay in Canada with new passport. While doing this, you can use photocopy of old visa and entry stamp as proof of status in Canada. If you are out of status, I would suggest you to go for restoration of your status as soon as possible and explain the circumstance in well manner.
I hope that you had reported your lost passport to the local police station around your area. Make sure you keep your passport safe in future to avoid these hard situations.
