I have done two years of study in Canada. I was visiting my home country and got stuck due to coronavirus travel restrictions. Now, I am applying PGWP from outside Canada. Do I need to show proof of means of financial support as I am applying from outside?

No. While applying PGWP, there is no requirement of proof of funds. You will get an open work permit to work in Canada which does not depend on the financial situation of applicant.
