Want To Know Difference Study Permit & Temporary Resident Visa
-
hello,
Can you let me know, What’s the difference between a Study Permit and a Temporary Resident Visa?
-
A temporary resident visa is a document that allows you only to enter/re-enter Canada as long as it’s valid. A study permit, on the other hand, is a document that permits you to study and stay in Canada legally as a student as long as it’s valid.

sorry, pls let me know if study permit is required for short courses? I want to do four months program for my post-doctoral.
-
A study permit is not usually required if you are taking a course that is less than 6 months in length.

ok, will check accordingly
so, Is it possible to stay in Canada after graduation?
-
After graduation, you can stay in Canada if you want to apply for post graduation work permit.
Also, if you have been offered a job and you will apply for LMIA-based work permit. Otherwise you can only stay in Canada until you allowed stay.
