Newspapers Clippings Can Work As Name Change Certificates
-
Hello
I am applying for PNP program for Ontario. I have a question about my name change. On all my educational documents from India, I have my name as Sukhbir Singh. When I applied for my passport in India, I changed my name to Sukhbir Singh Sekhon by giving an affidavit to a local newspaper for the name change classified. All of my educational and status documents for Canada has my name as Sukhbir Singh Sekhon. Now, I am applying for permanent residency and I am using all documents together. The question asked in the profile, do you even used any other name? If I say YES to it, it is asking for name change certificate. I do not have any name change certificate. What should I do now?

You can use that public notice Of name change which was advertised in the newspaper in India in the tab where system ask for a name change Certificate. Because in India, this is the legal procedure to change names. A public notice in the newspaper can be recognized as a legal name change. You should scan the clipping of that newspaper advertisement and upload under name change certificate tan in express entry profile.
