Canadian Citizenship Search Certificate & Renew Indian Passport

Hello sir/madam,

My Indian passport expired 4 years ago. Since I have no plans of travelling out of Canada, I did not renew my passport. When I went to renew my passport from Indian Consulate General in Toronto, they are asking me to give Canadian citizenship search letter. I told them that I am not a Canadian citizen yet but they asked me to bring Canadian citizenship search letter. What should I do now?

You will have to apply for Canadian citizenship search letter from IRCC. It takes 10 to 12 months approximately when you will receive it after applying.
