Are police Clearance Certificates required for a study permit application?

No police clearance or verification is required for study permit for Canada. However, if requested by IRCC, you must provide police clearance.

No police clearance certificate (PCC) is required for the study permit application but Immigration, Refugee, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Canadian Consular can ask for one. It is not a bad idea to have one for your own personal records just in case. It also depends on your country of residence.
