FSW CRS Points Under Adaptability Relative PR Card is Expired
-
I want to file my application for permanent residency under the federal skilled worker class. I understand that if I have a sister who is related to me by blood, then I will receive additional points under the adaptability section of CRS. The issue is that I have my sister’s PR card expired 2 months ago and she forgot to renew it. I read on the IRCC website that in order to receive points for having a relative in Canada, that relative should be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Since my sister’s PR Card is expired, will I still get points under CRS?

If your sister’s PR has expired, it is not the same thing as losing her permanent resident status in Canada. I would suggest that if your sister renews her PR card before you submit your express entry profile and if asked by IRCC, provide an explanation for your sister’s expired PR Card. To make a long answer short, you should still receive points under the adaptability section of CRS.
