Hi, I have one of my cousin in India who wants to marry a girl who’s eight years older than him and she will be coming to Canada on a student Visa. Is she eligible to file the application for her husband’s work permit after 6 months of study? Does age factor will be considered by Visa Officer?

An age factor is considered a major factor by an officer. The age difference of 8 years (moreover, wife is older) can create a doubt in the mind of an officer that it is a marriage of convenience. Possibly, there will be an interview request by the officer to verify the genuineness of the marriage. You can only prevent a refusal by providing number of support documents and a well prepared interview by the applicant and the inviter. The wife is eligible to apply for her husband’s work permit when she is in Canada and studying on a full-time basis.

I think age doesn’t matter at all.
