I have a friend who lives in Denmark and he wants to visit Canada. I read on the IRCC website that since Denmark is a visa-exempt country, my friend only needs to get an eTA. But, my friend is not educated and does not know proper English so he is unable to fill out his eTA application by himself. I am wondering, can I apply for an eTA for my friend or does he need to hire an immigration consultant?

The answer to your question depends on whether you are a Canadian citizen or not. If you are a Canadian citizen, then YES you can help your friend apply for an eTA. However, you will need to indicate at the start of the form that you are completing the form for someone else. You will also be required to fill out information about yourself.
