How Can I Find Out Whether I Provided Biometrics Already / Not

My friend applied for his study permit extension application in March 2020. His application is still in process and biometrics are due because of covid-19. He previously applied for his study permit application and came to Canada in December 2018 from India. Biometrics were started in India from November 2018. Now, he thinks that may be he had given biometric before. How can he find if he has given biometrics before with paper application or at the port of entry? Can he add the previously given biometrics to new application?

He can easily find out if he has given biometrics before by using online tool provided on IRCC website. Click the link below:
https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/extapp/bioStatusQuery
If he has given biometrics before for any temporary resident application, then those biometrics will be valid for 10 years and he can use them for this application as well.
