I have a question about departure orders and deportation orders. I have been issued a departure order because I was found inadmissible to Canada. At the interview, the officer told me that he is issuing me a departure order but I received the official letter a week later. I read online that I must leave within 30 days but I am confused about from which date do I count the 30 days? Also, if I do not leave within the 30 days, what will happen to my departure order?

Your 30 day period is counted from the day that the departure order comes into effect. So if interviewing officer made your departure order effective immediately, then you will have to count your 30 days from the date of the interview. If you do not leave Canada within 30 days, your departure order will become a deportation order.
