I am the only child of my parents. They have been visiting me in Canada since March 2020 on a Super Visa. I was told by a friend of mine that I am eligible to apply for Humanitarian & Compassionate Grounds (H&C) application for my parents. Is this true?

    Hello Inderpreet,

Anyone can apply for permanent resident in Canada based on the H&C grounds as long as they have compelling reasons. It all depends on individual circumstances. Your parents are here on super Visa, they can stay with you up to 2 years at a time. When the parents and grandparents sponsorship opens, you can apply for their permanent resident visa as long as you are here for 3 years and meet the financial requirements for 3 years in addition to other qualifying requirements.
