I am a permanent resident in Canada. I want to sponsor my husband who is already in Canada. I was going through his documents and found out that his name is not there on his birth certificate but it shows father and grandfather’s name and their village address. Would my husband’s birth certificate be acceptable without his name on birth certificate?

Get an affidavit from the parents of your husband that this birth certificate belongs to their son who was born on such and such date, month, and year. I hope this will serve your purpose. Apart from the affidavit, if the birth certificate is in native language e.g. Punjabi or Hindi etc., get it translated into English.
