I am an international student in Canada. My college is in Sarnia, Ontario. Due to covid-19, my studies are going on online and I came to my cousin’s house in Toronto, Ontario. I am attending my online classes and group assignments regularly. My question is that can I work in Toronto for 20 hours during my online studies. My co-op work permit says Employer as my college’s name and Employment Location as Sarnia. I am confused if I can join any part-time job in Toronto, Ontario. Kindly suggest.
There is no problem with studying in a different location than that mentioned on your study permit. You can study online from anywhere in Canada. As for working part time, the only restrictions are that you can work only 20 hours off-campus. The employer listed on your co-op work permit is only for the course work of your program of study. The co-op work permit has nothing to do with part-time work during studies.
