I am a study permit holder in canada. I never worked in Canada. I was allowed to work 20 hours a week. Currently, I am in third semester of my two years study program. Can I work more than 20 hours now as I have never worked before?

No. You can not work more than 20 hours a week while on a study permit in Canada. If you never worked in Canada during your first two semesters, it does not provide you any extra time to work in third semester. If you have a study permit and are enrolled full-time in an academic, professional, and eligible institution, you are allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week.

No. If you’re eligible to work off-campus, you can work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session. During scheduled breaks, like the summer or winter holidays and spring break, you’re allowed to work more than 20 hours. You can only start working in Canada when you start your study program. Your 20 hour per week can not be accumulated, if you did not work before.
