My father is in Canada on a temporary resident Visa. His allowed stay is going to expire on August 30, 2020. I would like to extend his visa to super visa. Can I do that when my father is already in Canada? I read somewhere that visa can be only applied from outside Canada.
You can apply for an extension of your father’s stay in Canada before the granted entry expires. He may be granted a 1 year visitor record. The super visa can only be applied from outside of Canada and will result in a counterfoil that is affixed in the passport. It allows persons to board a plane and arrive at POE in Canada, where they have to prove that they meet temporary resident visa conditions. Once your father will return to his country, he can apply for a super visa in the future.
