I have a question regarding how to change the status from worker to visitor. I am holding the work permit that is valid till Dec 2020, but I already left the Job 2 months ago and doesn’t want to work anymore in Canada. I am having visitor visa that is valid till Dec 2022.

You can not live in Canada more than the authorized stay of six months in Canada which is applicable to a visitor. If you want to stay in Canada for longer than that you need to extend your stay in Canada as a visitor.

If you have a work permit in Canada, then you are allowed to work and remain in Canada till the expiration of that work permit. If you are not working, there is no need to change it to a temporary resident visa. You can stay in Canada for six months without working because you have valid visitor visa. But after six months, you have to either leave Canada immediately or apply for extension as a visitor.
