I am permanent resident in Canada and my wife is a Canadian citizen. She is currently pregnant and in the last month of gestation period. Her due date is September 08, 2020. She needs emotional and physical support from her mother-in-law. My mother already has visitor visa approved for Canada. Can my mother visit us to support my wife during and post-natal period? Will there be any travel restrictions for her?

Due to Covid-19 pandemic travel restrictions, non-essential travel is banned at most of the international airports. Canada is also restricted unnecessary travel of visitors at all the entry points to Canada. Being a helper in pre-natal and post-natal care, is not that essential purpose of travel. In my view, your mother should wait for a while and when restrictions are lifted, she should plan her visit.
