The Group of 5 ImmigrationCategory Sponsorship Requirements

I read online somewhere that there is an immigration category called ‘Group of 5’. Could you please tell me the requirements of this program and who can be sponsored under this category? I have 5 friends living back home, do you think I can sponsor them under this program?

I think you are getting a little confused about this. The Group of Five (G5) is a unique immigration category under which 5 or more Canadian citizens or permanent residents can sponsor a refugee who is living abroad to come to Canada. The primary condition is that the Group of Five may only sponsor an individual who has been recognized as a refugee by either the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) or a foreign state.
