An Intra-Company Transferee – Work Experience Requirements

My friend has been working in Italy for the past 4 months as a director of an IT company. The company he is working for has decided to open up a location in Canada as a subsidiary of the parent company. My friend wants to come to Canada as an Intra-Company Transferee and work at the Canadian location of his company. He is confused about the work experience requirements for an Intra-Company Transferee. For how long must he have worked at the Italy location for in order to be eligible?

In order to come to Canada under the Intra-Company Transferee program, your job position must fall into one of the following 3 categories:

1) Executives

2) Senior Managers

3) Workers with ‘specialized knowledge’

In all three categories, in order to be eligible under the Intra-Company Transferee program, you must have worked for a minimum of ONE year on a full time basis.
