My mother passed away when I was 1 year old. My father then got remarried to my step-mother when I was 2 years old. In all of my documents such as my Indian passport, my mother’s name is the name of my step-mother. However, in my birth certificate, my name biological mother’s name is written. How can I address and resolve this issue?

You will need to provide a sworn affidavit to the authorities that you are the same person whose birth certificate and passports are presented. The sworn affidavit can be from you or your father to affirm the facts stated. You get an affidavit commissioned by a notary or a commissioner for oaths.
